It is a tool for demonstration and further development of the COR24 soft CPU platform, and it is also hard to find development boards for the particular FPGA I have chosen, the Lattice Semiconductor MachXO, with this specific combination of features. So I made this board.
The COR24 soft CPU has some interesting qualities, the instruction set is very space-efficient, instruction execution via its four-stage pipeline is also time-efficient. This COR24 CPU runs at 101.6064 MHz. COR24 is a simple CPU that does everything the way I've always thought things should be done. Doing less, better, rather than doing more, not so well. OR, if you just want a practically useful MachXO development platform, this board is that too.
