What is it?

The USB7960 is a USB interface board that can be connected to the commonly available BTS7960 Motor Driver module. It allows control of the motor driver from a USB host, such as a PC.

The USB7960 provides management of four PWM signals (L_EN, R_EN, LPWM, RPWM) via a simple serial command protocol.

When connected to the host, the USB interface appears as a COM port (VCP), utilizing standard CDC drivers included with both Windows and Linux.

Why did you make it?

Desiring a quick way to test a motor with the BTS7960 driver, I sought a straightforward plug-and-play module that eliminates the need for additional wiring or mounting concerns.

The USB7960, which comes with an unsoldered female header connector, can be soldered directly to the BTS7960 header or plugged in using the provided female header. The mounting holes on the USB7960 align with those of the motor driver module, allowing for a secure and robust installation.
