Roomba Wifi Controller

Our Roomba Wifi Controller connects your Roomba vacuum cleaner to your local wifi network. The controller features a Wifi Chip (ESP) with external antenna possibility - just in case you have some larger space and want large coverage. We have programmed a webserver application that runs on the Wifi Chip and offers some control commands to start / stop / dock your roomba.

What do you use it for?

We have a home automation (FHEM) running and wanted also to control the roomba from there. Those roombas which can be controlled over wifi are just ridiculously expensive, so we decided to build our own. This is the result.

Can I change the software and add commands?

Absolutely. iRobot has an Open Interface (OI) description and with our software you can add any command you want. The Controller has pretty much flash memory left so you can add basically whatever you want.

Does it come with software?

Yes. We will supply open source software which works with Arduino IDE and can be compiled and flashed from there. All you need is an FTDI and connect this to the Roomba Controller UART Interface.
