Know how these work:

• Wemo's do NOT use 5Ghz, only 2.4Ghz WiFi
• Wemo's do NOT have a way to set a static IP address, use a DHCP reservation if you need to keep track of several
• Wemo's must be setup initially to join your WiFi using the Wemo app on an Android or Apple IOS device, however after that, you can control Wemo's directly on the LAN without any cloud/Internet dependency if you like; using Arduino, command-line/shell script, 3rd party mobile apps, 3rd party home automation plug-ins.
• Wemo's can integrate with Alexa and Google Home, see: https://www.belkin.com/us/support-article?articleNum=157351 or https://www.belkin.com/us/support-article?articleNum=224185 but for that to work they DO need working Internet access.

Why do I have so many:

Over a year ago a major hardware store that is orange was liquidating their "fathers day" 2-packs that got misplaced in a no-home inventory location, these packs included a Wemo switch and smart-plug. I bought all of them in a 20 mile radius.
