The LED backlight and zener tester is used to test led strips, led panels, or any other leds strings. It features a low current 5-10ma current source to provide enough current for the strip to be tested. It is used to test and identify faulty leds. Further can be used to test capacitors voltage and also zeners. This requires a multimeter connected to the output of the unit and the voltage is monitored.
I built this unit as i needed to test an led strip. With this unit i could power the strip and identify and repair the faulty led chip.
the unit is very easy to use. Just connect the output to a multimeter and using the probes connect each probe to the led terminals. the led strip will light and the voltage drop will be displayed on the multi meter.
The board is powered by a 9v wall adapter and the output can be adjusted by the trimmer.
Input Voltage : DC JACK 9V - 200Ma
Output Voltage - 35 - 300v @ 5-10Ma
Adjustable voltage by the trimmer pot
This board is very small and makes it very handy when such tests needs to be carried out.
What is Included?
An Assembled and tested board is supplied- * Requires a DC wall power plug - 9v and test leads - (wire with alligator clips)
