What is it?

This is a low power carrier board for the Acconeer XM125 module with the option to add a QWIIC connector, Grove connector, or header pins. The XM125 has a tiny 60GHz pulsed coherent radar that can be used to measure distance changes less than 1mm and up to 20m depending on the application. Firmware is programmed via the TTL serial pins.

Why did you make it?

We needed something smaller and flatter than what is available elsewhere to fit a PCR in our sensor housing and to reduce power consumption. I came up with this board. We use these for geological sensing - tides, flooding, unstable slope monitoring. But it is a very versatile sensor. It claims to do a lot more like detect humans, breathing, pulse rate, and tank level monitoring. See Acconeer's website for ideas.

What makes it special?

The circuit board has room to add a QWIIC or Grove connector. Or header pins so you can plug it into a breadboard. There are footprints for I2C pullups if desired. And there is a cuttable trace on the WAKE pin. The Supply voltage is 3.3V which feeds an onboard 1.8V LDO regulator. To program the firmware you will need a USB to TTL Serial adapter.
