The HacroCam is a VGA image sensor kit for microcontrollers in an Arduino shield layout. You can use it to capture time lapse, send images directly to a tiny TFT display, and control image pixels directly on the camera board. Multiple cameras can be hooked up to a single Arduino for doing stereo projects.
Not using an Arduino? No problem, just hook up power + I2C (at either 3.3V or 5V) and you're up and running.

Free cross-platform viewing software is available for viewing images over a serial link. This is handy because the images arrive in native RGB format, completely uncompressed. The software can save images out in TGA (uncompressed) or JPG (compressed) format.
A complete Arduino library is also provided to give total control over the camera, including setting / getting the camera's internal register settings for more advanced customizations.
