What is it?

This is a 2.7 inch small e-ink display with capacitive touch screen, 264x176 resolution, SPI interface, and the display is capable to display images with black and white content.

It supports 3s full screen update, 1.5s screen fast update, 0.42s partial screen update. Your image holds indefinitely without power – put up your image, then shut down the power. Once these e-paper modules are updated they don't require any power and can actually be disconnected entirely and the content will remain on the display indefinitely. This e-paper display GDY027T91-T01 is perfect for low power devices powered by solar or batteries.

Back in the day I designed a proved to work controller board for this epaper, that you can find in the Hardware section, of the bistable switch project. It's fully open-source and has all KiCad files available so you can customize it as you please before sending it to fabrication.
