KR580WW51A / КР580ВВ51А UART IC Identical to Intel P8251 or 8251A / 82C51

Manufactured in Ukraine (Former Soviet Union / USSR / CCCP)

3x different models available from 3 different factories (see photo). The cool upper one comes from the factory “Kvazar” in Kiev. The middle one is from the factory “Kvantor”, Ternopil oblast / Ukraine. The lower one comes from the “Rodon” factory, Ivanofrankivsk / Ukraine.

Manufactured in 1987, 1989 and 1990. Case: DIP28, although in the USSR the ICs were manufactured according to a mm dimension and not according to the inch dimension as in Europe / USA.

This means that the distances between the pins are slightly smaller. The chips fit easily into a normal DIP28 socket, but with a precision socket there may well be small problems.

Small detail. There is an additional pin cut off between the two middle pins. Presumably it was used as a holder during production or something like that. If you have any further details - please comment!
