This is the original, earlier-generation version of the adapter.
It supports all current USB Power Delivery protocols (PD 1.0 / 2.0 / 3.0). Maximum power is 20 V / 3 A (60 W), and the device automatically negotiates the proper PD level for your connected charger and phone.
Because different devices handle PD negotiation in different ways, some pairings may not connect successfully.

⚙️ Compatibility Notes

• Works with most Android phones and Lightning iPhones (MFi cable).
• Not compatible with iPhones with USB-C ports.
• QC charger in the power port works normally (operates at 5V only).
• QC charger in the data port may defeat operation if the phone also supports QC.
• Works with any PD-compliant charger (PD 1.0–3.0).

🧠 Technical Note

This adapter performs what can best be described as a USB negotiation trick.
It attempts to make the connected phone and the PD power source believe they are part of the same USB connection, even though power and data come from different ports.

This behavior is not officially supported by the USB specification, so some “overly intelligent” phones or infotainment systems may detect the mismatch and reject the connection.

We continually test compatibility and appreciate any user feedback on successful or unsuccessful phone–vehicle pairings.

🚗 Application #1 — Android Auto + Fast Charging

Many vehicles only support Android Auto through an older USB Type-A port, which normally forces you to choose between Android Auto or fast charging.

With this adapter, you can have both at once:
- Connect your phone
- Connect your car’s Android Auto USB port
- Connect a PD capable USB-C charger

When the charger is off, standard 5 V charging is used.
When the charger is on, it automatically switches to PD 3.0 fast charging.

🍏 Application #2 — Apple CarPlay + Fast Charging

Use CarPlay and fast-charge your iPhone simultaneously.
Compatible with Lightning iPhones that support PD charging.
Simply connect your CarPlay USB port, your phone, and a USB-C charger.

Use an MFi-certified Lightning cable for reliable performance.
iPhones with USB-C connectors are not supported.

💻 Application #3 — Offload Power from Weak USB Ports

Older computers often can’t supply enough current for modern USB-C devices.
This adapter lets you offload power from a PD-capable charger while maintaining data to the computer.

Example: an older laptop may provide only 100 mA via USB Type-A, while a USB-C scanner or printer requires more.
This adapter provides external power so the device runs normally while staying connected for data.

• Supports USB Power Delivery 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 protocols
• Maximum output: 20 V / 3 A (60 W)
• The USB-C power source takes precedence over power from the data port
• Quick Charge (QC) chargers are supported only on the power port (they will operate at 5 V).
• ⚠️ Using a QC-capable charger on the data port may cause connection failure if the connected phone also supports QC, since both ends can attempt to draw power before PD takeover.
• USB 2.x data supported (USB 3.x devices operate in 2.x mode)
