This kit consists of 11 small pentagonal boards that can be soldered together plus a single mounting board. Each of the 11 LED faces has three WS2812B independently-addressable LEDs on it, for a total of 33 LEDs.
Put it inside of frosted lamp globe, and you have nice large color decoration or indicator. You will need a controller that can drive WS2812B LEDs to control the globe; you could use an Arduino or ESP8266 using a library such as FastLED. If you want a turnkey solution, consider my ESP8266-based controller, which supports controlling the globe over your WiFi network and supports a number of built-in animations.
I built the globe to use as part of my holiday lighting; one of my decorations used globes that had 100 miniature incandescent lights on them, and this is the snazzed-up LED version.
To assembly the globe, you will need good soldering skills; please read the assembly instructions before ordering.
