Introduction

RASP-GSM-SIM800F interface is a GSM and GPRS interface for interconnecting with a Raspberry Pi (or compatible) for GSM or GPRS network communications and SMS messages. It has integrated an RGB LED for viewing the network status, as well as a switch for connecting the modem locally. It has a connector for sim card cards. Communications can be sent by Raspberry RX and TX series lines or alternatively via USB. The interface can be powered directly with 12VDC by the J2 connector, or alternatively it can be powered by the Raspberry Pi's 5V.

In this example (photos) the interface is interconnected with a Raspberry Pi, and is prepared to send or receive commands over the GSM and GPRS network.

Connections:

The connections to the Raspberry Pi correspond to the following pins:

GPIO17 - Jumper P2 2-3 ON/OFF Modem GSM

GPIO26 - Jumper P2 1-2 ON/OFF Modem GSM

GPIO16 - RING - Switches to low state (0) if you receive a call.

GPIO20 - DTR - Suspension. Default state HIGH (module in hibernation mode, serial communication disabled). After setting it down, the module will be activated.
