Description

This is a DIY part/kit to replace the 2DS XL charging port into a USB-C based charger.

It contains the USB connector with a small PCB, with pre-populated resistors to properly trigger 5V charging (with most chargers, like laptop, cellphone, Nintendo switch, etc). The PCB can be directly soldered to the 2DS board. It also includes a tiny plastic bit to cover the extra hole space (available in white and black color, please ask about availability of other colors).

After the install, the case/shell will need some rework. Usually making the charger hole a bit wider (with a cutter tool/grinder). There will also leave a small gap between the USB port and the edge of the shell where the plastic bit can be installed.

Instructions

The mod requires (not included):

• Desoldering the original charger port (we recommend a hot air station).
• Grinding the case with a cutter tool to make the connector hole slightly wider (for the USB connector) or using a different shell.
• Soldering the connector onto the PCB, either with hot air or a soldering iron.
• Glueing the cover/plastic bit onto the USB connector to reduce/close the remaining gap.

Obviously, none of the above parts/materials are included!

Please note this kit is only for 2DS XL model.
