What is it?

Dual PSG/SSG module for MegaGRRL, compatible with AY-3-8910 and YM2149. The world's first independent high-speed YM2149 VGM hardware player supporting Atari ST SNDH music.

Why did you make it?

Natalie and I designed this hardware together to test the AY8910/YM2149 music. It can currently play all PSG VGM music, including the huge Atari ST SNDH transcription music, and it can perfectly reproduce the fancy SNDH sound effects, such as Sync buzzer, SID, and digital drum sounds.

What makes it special?

The firmware was written by Natalie, and I designed the PCB.
Compared to the old version, 2xPSG MegaMod v0.3 includes the following improvements:
1. Simplified single-board design. The early 2xPSG MegaMod used an overly complex mixing scheme, which required a separate mixing board to be stacked on top. The current design condenses the most important functions on a single PCB.
2. Stereo PSG channel switch. You can switch the stereo position of the three channels A/B/C. I designed a double three-position switch to control it.
3. Volume adjustment knob
4. Internal mixing and independent headphone jack output switch.
