GenMDM is basically the ultimate bridge between your MIDI gear and a real Sega Genesis. If you’ve ever loved the sound of the YM2612 and PSG chips from the Genesis days, GenMDM lets you play them like an instrument. You plug it into your Genesis, hook up a MIDI cable, and your synth, keyboard, or DAW is controlling the hardware sound in real time. This is a clone of the little-scale GenMDM running little-scale firmware code.

TRS-A and USB MIDI

Channels 1–6: Each one controls one of the six FM voices on the YM2612. Channel 7: Controls the Genesis PSG’s square wave channel A Channel 8: Controls PSG square wave channel B Channel 9: Controls PSG noise channel Channel 10: General MIDI drum channel, mapped to various noise and PSG tones for percussion.
