A500++ Project - Pure Retro-Tech hit!

First purchase on Tindie - Just ordered the black A500++ replica PCB, and I can say that I'm impressed by:

1. The speed of the shipping
2. The Quality and finish of the PCB
3. Quality Silkscreen
4. Price - For a large PCB it is good value [previous experience with PCB design and manufacture has proven to be expensive in the past!]

If fact, its ALMOST a shame to solder onto it and not frame it!

Ok, so that's enough smoke blowing - I learnt of this boards existence from the YouTube "RMC" channel - This guy sold it to me.

Documentation:
I found the BOM, got the YouTube links, now unless I'm missing something, that's all I have got - Still "something" is better than nothing.

Waiting for my donor to arrive to commence work.

Received in great condition.

Hoping to build this one up into replica of the Amiga 500+ plus that I had earlier in life. Combining my love of retro computing and electronics. Happy days ahead for me.

Board worked perfectly.

Excellent board. Although the documentation wouldn’t suit beginner pcb population, it was more than adequate for intermediate or hobbyist level electronics skill sets. The pcb itself has tested 100% with expansion boards / memory. Very happy.

Great Amiga PCB

The board arrived quickly, with the resisters etc. It was well packaged and arrived in pristine condition.
Using the online BOM I was able to source the bulk of the parts needed to build the Amiga and using Discord able to source the still introduction parts i couldn't get initially.

The Board is now 99% done I only need some of the custom chips and connectors to finish the build. Even with my limited skill the board was easy to populate using online component locators.

I'm super pleased with the board, and looking forward to getting it going!!!

As a novice this has been an introduction to my new retro hobby! As a nice to have, I'd be keen on some commissioning checks and tests I could perform prior to its first switch on. Additionally some super high res pics of a finished and populated board to help spot any issues.

This is an outstanding product, which once i have mine commissioned will for the base of many upgrades and mods.

Well done to those involved in creating this board!

Works great!

A great product, works perfectly. Gave some head scratching to figure out why the floppy didn't work in the first place just to realize I forgot to solder the DF0: switch jumpers :) Otherwise everything worked right for the first boot, much recommended

It is so good I am building my second one

Just received my second purple board and ordered all the parts. The first one went so smoothly I just had to do it again.
The board quality and documentation is second to none.

Brilliant board excellent quality

I decided to get one of these as i have a number of Amigas that have suffered battery damage and may be beyond repair so having these boards available is a godsend. I have 2 of them and am very impressed with their quality and reasonable price. A fabulous piece of work to reverse engineer the original boards made by Commodore.

Haven't yet built it, but it's a work of art!

I've got a couple of Amiga A500+ machines that have succumbed to the familiar battery leak. I purchased this board to hopefully resurrect the worst one. I particularly like the additional features added to the board, such as the drive selector allowing you to use something more modern like a GoTek externally as the boot drive without any additional hacks.

It arrived quickly in a padded envelope, it'd take some force to break it so I don't think it'd need more packaging. Some great documentation available with links to purchase many of the parts you may need. I purchased the additional resistor pack for simplicity, works out a little cheaper than buying large quantities of resistors of some more unusual values that I'd probably not use.

Look forward to building it soon, but in the mean time I feel it should be hanging on a wall!

Awesome pcb. Nice and thick. Better than the original.

Bought this to resurrect an A500+ that had been in a shed for about 20 years.

After buying a used Gary, to replace the one killed by the Varta, we were up and running. Then one of the reused used 74 ics packed up. So had to replace it. Desoldering was easy and board seems strong and well made.

Board and silk screening appear to be of high quality, it does not include actual documentation, only a parts list which once I managed to get past the Swedish, (which is a google issue!) was easy to use other than printing out tiny, never had to contact the seller, so unable to rate communication, but feel it would likely have been as high quality as everything else(: as a side note I found brand new DB23 ports but due to Jens at https://icomp.de/shop-icomp/en/shop.html#filter=* refusing to sell more than 1 set, it looks like I have to shelve my planed A2000 and A500++ builds, so that I can help my Granddaughter build her A2000 as I simply cant afford to by 3 systems to cannibalize):

As expected and looks perfect!

First time for me to have such a big project so it will be interesting to build a working self built Amiga from this PCB.
I like the small enhancements over the original A500+ PCB and especially the added possibility to use a DIN style power cable socket.
Too bad the black version was not available at the time of my purchase, but the purple is still an amazing color so no regrets really.

The board looks great and I cant wait to get it all together. This one I'm going to take slowly and am sure I'm going to enjoy it. Looking forward to get A New(ish) A500 going.
