Leds explanation:

green(blue) on – fusebits repaired. If lockbits are enabled, just verify fusebits with factory ones – and if they ok – light up green.
red on – signature problem, can’t read, no device in socket, or no such signature in database.
green(blue)flashing – signature ok, fusebits are wrong. Lockbits enabled, chip erase permission required (read below).
red flashing – signature ok, no lockbits, but for some reason can’t write new fusebits.

Good PCB

I received the PCB for a very short time. Put all parts, tested it. All working OK, already save two Atmel CPUs.

I`m happy with it.

Very interesting and helpful product

A couple of weeks ago I damaged a ATmega32 and was curious if it's possible to fix/reset that chip instead of buying a new one. In the internet I found the fuse bit doctor, ordered the board and completed it myself because I already had most of the necessary parts available. After completing it, it only took me a couple of minutes to fix that chip and an other one (ATmega328) as well. The most difficult part for me was to get the serial connection to the PC up and running. But once that was fixed it was absolutely easy to repair the chip.
The latest version of the board is not completely documented in the internet and therefore I had to ask the supplier. But I received the answer almost immediately.
Overall I'm very satisfied!

Works as advertised, was already very helpful!

I received the board and the programmed chip within a few days. The board was soldered (pretty much only after the silkscreen and images on this campaign) and after a few electrical tests I turned it on for the first time and tested a few (serial programmable) chips lying around with success.

The master test however was a number of AT90USB1287 which use parallel programming, so I soldered the QFN chips onto an adapter, wired it up, turned it on -- and low and behold: It claims that the reset worked (after allowing a flash erase)! Yay!

The documentation is a bit on the meh side, otherwise it's a nicely working product quickly shipped.

great standalone high voltage recovery board

This board was easy to solder, board is well labeled for what goes well, and no 'weird' parts are used (all current components). Board is priced attractively (vs having a batch made for your, ie: from oshpark). Two things are not labeled: Power polarity, LED orientation, and serial pins, but are easy enough to figure out. Documentation is very complete from building to use. 'Adapter' boards make it easy to recover a variety of boards, as well as potentially 'future proof' it. Nicely done, easy build, well designed.
