The Altonalab Temperature Sensor is an easy-to-use board, which works within the range of -20C to 100C with an accuracy of 1%. It has a connector with three screws for ground, power (+5V) and signal output. The measured output voltage (Vout) of the sensor can be converted to temperature using the expression:
T = (Vout 2.7315)*100.0.
The sensor has been tested and works well even with long connecting wires to the controller. Real experiments have been done with cables up to 20 meters long.
Below are described a few simple ways to connect the sensor to Numato 8 Channel USB GPIO Module with Analog Input:
AltonaLab Connector board for ADC 5V is developed for fast connecting of up to 4 sensors with analog outputs.
For applications with ADC 3.3V, the needed connector board has to be AltonaLab Connector board for ADC 3.3V or just use a resistor divider shown below:
AltonaLab IoT software has special functional blocks for all the Numato controllers and for the temperature sensor too: AltonaSensorTemp, so everyone can very easy measure the temperature using the diagram as shown below:
