This is a screen (based on HD44780, with 2 rows of 16 characters) working over a CAN Bus (10kbps, 20kbps, 50kbps, 125kpbs, 250kbps, 500kbps, 1000kbps) with up to 6 buttons.
You can change the frequency of CAN, the node ID, the brightness, the contrast, any character on screen and get status buttons over the CAN Bus.
The communication and power is in the RJ45 connector.
!The RJ45 is not an Ethernet! The pinout is only compatible with Trilys products.
The pinout is :
1 - Not connected
2 - Not connected
3 - Not connected
4 - +5V
5 - GND
6 - Not connected
7 - CAN_L
8 - CAN_H
Because there is no screen fully controlled with a CAN Bus. (or we didn't find it…)
This is an all in one screen and buttons with only one RJ45 connector required. Easy to plug and easy to install with robust communication made for noisy environments. We successfully used this screen in a battery powered refrigerated truck, and we use the CAN on RJ45 cables on most of our products like our lithium batteries, standalone BMS, CAN interfaces, etc...
Yes, you can use your own BeagleBone with our sources (available on github) and any CAN cape.
Or buy our own BeagleBone Green and double CAN Cape, ready to use with CAN libraries and software examples already installed.
