A circuit to take 2-5V input from Lithium-Ion/LiPo batteries (or any 2~5V battery), and boost up to 5.25V for USB output. Includes 2 ports, one of which is configured for older Apple devices (iPods, iPhone up to 4S, original iPad), and a USB 2 port configured as a Dedicated Charing Port, supporting up to 1.5A of output. Works with pretty much anything that runs on USB, including: smartphones, tablets, e-book readers, Arduino, RaspberryPi, and more.
We designed this circuit because there was no comparable product on the market, especially one that supported 1A+ of output. This component was designed to be included in the BootstrapSolar Chiqoo kit, but is useful for any project that needs a regulated 5V power supply from a 2-5V battery.
