This is an easy to use development system for ESP8266. The kit has a built in FTDI FT232X USB to UART bridge and a 5V to 3.3V LDO. The kit comes pre-flashed with the latest version of NodeMCU. Simply plug it into your PC, open the serial port and start writing code. It includes a push button to easily enter bootloader mode.
I made this kit because I was very interested in trying out ESP8266. After getting some ESP-03 modules, I really liked the form factor and GPIO availability but getting a UART and power supply hooked up was very tedious. This kit solves these issues.
This is one of the smallest kits that I've found, it also has a fair amount of GPIO and is designed with stand alone ESP8266 firmware development. The USB to UART is very convenient as well as the boot loader pushbutton.
