We created a Flex Module that supports the several MAX30100 series biosensor modules. The design has an onboard 1.8V power supply to drive logic and we recommend a 5V VDD to drive the LEDs (though 3.3V may work).
We designed this board to experiment with the amazing Maxim Integrated LED based biosensor modules.
There are cheaper designs, but this is more compact with a SMPS and we sell all the module variations available:
