LoRa, short for Low Power Long Range, is a relatively new wireless physical layer making use of low data rate, spread spectrum wireless communications, and achieving very impressive range compared with other wireless radios in the ISM band. This is a simple HopeRF RFM95 daughter board that can be used with standard mikroBUS sockets. The mikroBUS form-factor was developed by MikroElectronika, and is breadboard friendly. This module contains a HopeRF RFM95W wireless radio module, which in turn, utilizes the Semtech SX1272 LoRa wireless chipset. The mikroBUS form-factor makes it simple to plug into mikroBUS-friendly controller boards, or standard breadboards for point-to-point wiring of your prototype. Configure the desired antenna type for either a 915MHz spring antenna, u.FL jack, or SMA jack. Use this u.FL-to-SMA cable to connect any SMA antenna through a bulkhead or other enclosure wall.
Solder links on the bottom side of the PCB allow configuration of various digital IO options for the RFM95 module to the mikroBUS headers. The PCB is default configured for the most common configuration, allowing drop-in use with common Arduino libraries, such as the RadioHead library.
