My Brain-In-A-Jar Project

Your mission, should you accept it or not, is to engage the 1-bit microprocessor to save our world. A Retroshield 14500 has been already assigned to you:

• Motorola MC14500B
• Clock freq can be adjusted up or down or even single-stepped via software (default 2kHz for killbit game).
• 8 buttons and 8 LED's for you and 14500 to interact.
• Additional LED's to monitor processor state.
• Arduino has monitor w/ assembler and disassembler to enter and single step your program without a PC.
• Arduino Relay shield is a perfect addition to 14500.

You can play with these:

• Arduino Mega monitor code with assembler/disassembler and single-step.
• Killbit game where you try to get rid of bits. Of course they are running around :)
• "hello world" uart spew to show anything is possible w/ 1-bit (A clever implementation by Yaroslav Veremenko).
• It is easy to build a PLC yourself using the Arduino Relay Shield.

Note: Killbit game can use Arduino Relay Shield to create sound effects. Strongly recommended.

What do you get?

Following options are available:

• Asembled and tested
• Kit including 14500 processor (you solder through-hole parts)
• PCB only (SMT parts already soldered for you)

What makes it special?

You can "breadboard in software" meaning you can design, change, update your hardware platform as easily as modifying the source code and recompiling code.
