The huge amount of work that Steve has put in to recreating ancillaries for the ZX Spectrum is obvious from just a cursory inspection of his website (ProjectSpeccy). One of the results of his labours is his recreated MultiFace 128 PCB design, a product originally designed and sold by Romantic Robot. The PCB offered here on Tindie is improved from the version for which gerbers are freely available in that it has mounting holes and provision for a vertical NMI button.
The PCB is of high quality and as an experienced electronics professional I found assembly straightforward. The final result is a product that works every bit as well as the original.
Unfortunately the design of the original MultiFace 128 has a few small issues which are faithfully reproduced in this recreation. The most serious of these are potential NMI collisions with other interfaces and a weak ROMCS signal. It is a shame that these issues have not been fixed in this recreation.
