I found it to be easy to use and setup. The documentation was easy to follow. The settings give it great versatility. The size of the board and no parts on the backside makes it convenient for mounting with double sided tape. My only suggestion for improvement is to make the CAN termination resistor on/off software controlled by the SD card.
The reality is, if you're not an software engineer (which I'm not) chances are the data will not be usable "as is" ! The explanations for the ID filter are gibberish to me. The news functions from the last firmware could have improved slightly my experience, but sadly I bought mine in 2017 and I have no idea how to update the firmware (if that is even possible).
It would be so much better if we could set filters to get post-processed data instead of just the raw values. That would make it match the description of "simple logger" to me. Right now it more a "basic logger".
Nicely built CAN logger with excellent support. Make sure your SD card has a msdos (standard) partition table, not GPT. No problems logging at 500kbit/s @ ~35% (canbusload can0@500000) to a Class 10 SD card.
