Small devices for small projects at affordable prices.
My name is Domingo Hernández but some people prefer to call me MUZA ( or TUTAN, VARGUARD, SPARKS, LOCATIS etc.) so I chose the shortests for this site.
I am an Automation Engineer with over 4 decades of field experience in many industrial projects located around the world with special emphasis in the development of custom electronic devices for assembly and production lines.
Since my beginnings in the early 70´s the technology has changed so fast that it will be preposterous to say that I have been able to keep the pace of this revolution, thus I am not a specialist in any modern tecno gadgetry such as internet, UAVs or social media. What is left is some practical knowledge of how to solve specific problems, specially in the field of automation. This includes bits of expertise in the design of analog and digital devices ranging from DC instrumentation amplifiers to automated test jigs going through motion controllers and vision systems, all of them built with whichever technology was available at the time (discrete logic, micro controllers, PC, PLC, and the like). Along the way I learned how to put those contrivances to work using different programming languages none of which I ever mastered enough to call myself a software specialist. So they call me a “generalist” which I translate faithfully into “jack of all trades, good for nothing”.
Officially “retired” since late 2013 I am now actively working in several small automation projects in Europe, although I live in Canada, thanks to the incredible tools provided by internet (video conferencing, remote control, etc.). The companies I work for are not big ones with fat budgets for R&D; in fact the opposite is true, meaning that the development cost as well as the price of the final product must be reasonably low.
One positive result of this low-budget environment is that all final devices are low-cost and I thought that they may be useful for a wider community of DIY’s. The goal of this site is to sell them at an affordable price and help the users to use them to their satisfaction.
I expect to have only a few products available for sale, although some more will be added as new projects are completed. Also I am open to suggestions to modify existing designs to improve their performance or suitability for specific applications or develop new ones that may fill an existing gap (in fact, that’s what I usually do all the time!).
You are welcome to look around, ask questions, leave suggestions and, eventually, purchase anything that suits your requirements.
