After switching over from THT components to SMD stuff I decided I need a reflow oven, but didn't want to mess with prepping infrared toaster. I like the idea of beeing able to reposition my components while on the hot plate if needed. So i went for the large Reflowr 2.
I received my unit later than promised, but in perfect condition.
I connected the power cord and ran my first cycle by using the button on the Reflowr - flawless.
After some playing around with the android app (i couldn't set my WiFi credentials) my device suddenly stopped working and kept switching to bootloader mode. Unfortunately the android app wasn't able to update the firmware on 3 different devices. I contacted LafrasH and got a reply a few days later. He provided me with an earlier app to try updating the firmware - and it worked - thanks LafrasH! My temporary paperweight now works as intended exept for changing the WLAN credentials - I'm sure that can be taken care of too soon.
Overall a nice product and a helpful seller. I would love to see the firmware and android app go open source.
I bought the larger ReflowR in June and it was apparently lost in shipping. Not deterred, I ordered a second one and am really pleased with the purchase. If you've used one of the small IR ovens you know the problems with hot/cold spots in the oven and the terrible smell most of them have. The ReflowR is exactly the right fix for this. I'm using it for light production work and am very pleased with it. Even at twice the price.
