I made it for my table saw and Slide Compound saw at home. My power tools made from 1990 or 1980 do not have a soft starter.
In 2019, I decided buy a new Table Saw and it did not have Soft starter. Table saw kicked very hard when started and it's reduced service life of the tool. I can't believe it didn't have soft starter so I decided to make a soft starter for it myself. I tested it with my Slide Compound Saw, Table Saw, Planner, Router, Chop Saw ... and it's working perfect. You can see in the video.
Some of my friends also need soft starter and asked me. I decided to sell here to those who need a soft starter for power tool like me.
It has :
I tested it working with 220V/50Hz and 110V/50HZ and it's working perfect.
You have 2 wiring options depending on the device you are using
Option 1 With a Table saw that only has On/Off button (see picture and video below)
Video Youtube for wiring with table saw
Option 2 With Slide Compound Saw and you want to use the trigger switch. You must very careful wiring. If you don't understand please ask some one or choose option 1 or contact me (see picture and see video below)

This board soft starter is based on this circuit. This method is called AC phase control. It is the method used in many light dimmer and heater and motor power control circuits The zero crossing is directly derived from the rectified mains AC lines – via an optocoupler- and gives a signal every time the wave goes through zero. Because the sine wave first goes through double phased rectification, the zero-crossing signal is given regardless whether the sinus wave goes up through zero or down through zero. This signal then can be used to trigger an interrupt.
My board uses triac BT139. It can handle up to 16 Ampere. you can also change triac for more ampere. I am using software to remove noise from AC wire and open triac when zero crossing and open relay to share load with triac after 5 seconds. It's working perfectly.
When you are turn on, charger dc 5v took 0.5s to convert AC to DC 5v supply for microprocessor. Microprocessor delay 0.1s for reduce noise from AC. Soft starter board total takes 6 second until relay closed full load. Please wait until relay close and using your power tool.
STOP: This circuit is attached to a 110-220 Voltage. Do not build this if you are not confident about what you are doing. Unplug it before coming even close to the PCB. The cooling plate of the Triac is attached to the mains. Do not touch it while in operation. Put it in a proper enclosure/container.
WAIT: Let me just add a stronger warning here: This circuit is safe if it is built and implemented only by people who know what they are doing. If you have no clue or if you are doubting about what you do, chances are you are going to be DEAD!DO NOT TOUCH WHEN IT IS CONNECTED TO THE GRID
When you buy please select 110v or 220v from the drop down, i will send right board
