This is a set of break-out and break-in boards for you 3D printer RAMPS board. Specifically designed for 3D printer setups with enclosures, one board goes outside the enclosure and another inside the enclosure. This allows you to use 2 ribbon cables (one 20-pin parallel ATA cable, and one 2x6 ribbon cable) between the boards to make cabling a little cleaner and more manageable. A single 2x25-pin cable would be easier, but it nearly doubles the cost! It also allows you to extend the range between RAMPS and your printer by using longer ribbon cables.
If you ever want to do maintenance to the printer or enclosure that requires removal of the enclosure, you may have to disconnect 10+ cables. Reconnecting those cables can be error-prone since they are typically not "keyed" for polarity. Now, you only have to disconnect two ribbon cables. While they are not physically shrouded or keyed on the breakout boards, the silkscreen indicates the proper orientation.
Please note that I have had to raise the price due to rising costs of the components. The previous price of $20 would cause me to take a loss.
