This is a simple single transistor composite video buffer board. It can be used to add a composite video output to various games consoles and computers from the 1980s which have only UHF TV output.
I started making these on veroboard each time I did a composite video mod, but soon got sick, so designed a PCB version. This is an evolution of that original design, produced for me by TFW8b.com.
This is a very small board, which means it can be fitted inside the metal can RF modulators used on many systems to give a neat solution (see below links for ZX81, TS1000 and ZX Spectrum pictures).
I have used this board to modify the following systems. Most of these show an earlier version of the board. The current revision adds a decoupling capacitor to reduce noise on the video signal.

This is only suitable for systems which have a composite video signal available internally to be boosted by this board. Most PAL and NTSC devices with a RF modulator can be converted. Oddities such as the SECAM Atari 2600 which use a sort of S-Video to drive a modulator chip are unsuitable for conversion without additional circuitry.
The pins on the left are the inputs, from top to bottom,
The pins on the right are the outputs, from top to bottom,
See also the deluxe composite mod which comes with a pre-wired internal cable and removable AV lead.
Soldering is required, and in most systems, parts need to be removed to disable existing video output systems, or mixing of audio onto the composite video signal for UHF TV sets. Follow the guides above, or ask for further information if your system is not shown. It is not suitable for all systems.
