This is a board which replaces the MPS 6540-010 character ROM found on PET 2001 boards.

The 6540 mask ROMs often fail, so this replacement uses a reliable modern EPROM.

What makes it special?

A jumper on the board allows you to select between two character ROMs.

The board is supplied jumpered for BASIC 2 or 4 (901447-10), which will suit an upgraded BASIC 2 ROM set, or BASIC 2 or 4 on a PET ROM/RAM board.
If you are still running BASIC 1, you can change the jumper to select the original BASIC 1 character ROM (6540-010 / 901439-08).

Ideal compliment to the 6550 or 2114 video replacement boards and PET ROM/RAM boards to replace all the how power, low reliability vintage ROM and RAM with low power modern reliable replacements.

This listing include the 6540-010 replacement board and EPROM only (the red V1.4 boards). It does not include the PET 2001 board, or any of the other things shown such as the Video RAM replacement, PET ROM/RAM, PET Video, PET Dual Joystick with Piezo and SD2PET (all of which are available separately)
