This is the flagship version of the Macintosh IIci power supply board, model Pacific Kahuna. This board is designed for a specific Astec version of the power supply # AA15831 (black ASTEC logo on the nameplate/label), so please check the model you have against the photo in the listing. It would also help to open the top part of the enclosure to confirm you have a physical match of the board.

The Pacific Kahuna is a drop-in replacement for the original top-side board inside the original enclosure. It is designed to be easily installed into the original enclosure without modifications, and thus retains the original functionality and look of the original power supply. It works alongside the bottom AC board

Machine Test Configuration

The power supply was tested with Macintosh IIci outfitted with:

• DayStar Turbo 601 (PPC accelerator) 100 MHz
• Radius Rocket, 33 MHz 68040 with 128 MB of RAM
• Radius PrecisionColor XP video board
• Base 32 MB RAM on the IIci's logic board
• Spinning mechanical hard drive

The Radius Rocket was run in RocketShare mode and was run at the same time as the Turbo 601 was set to the active CPU. The above configuration was chosen to assess the capability of the overall design. If you have a setup more demanding than this one, feel free to ask about your setup

Specifications

Note: During initial prototyping, the machine was run without the -12 VDC module installed without any apparent issues, therefore the 0.85 A supply should be more than sufficient for most installations. The Apple 5 VDC allotment for Nubus slots and the hard drive seems to be fairly generous after testing the configuration described above.
