This expansion board can make your PAL-1 system to use a old-school cassette recorder for data storage, just like the old days! You can save and load your program from PAL-1 to cassette tape just like the KIM-1 does. This board is based on the original KIM-1's cassette interface, plus a integrated 12V power supply onboard.
You can connecting this cassette board directly to the expansion port of PAL-1, or through socket of the PAL-1 Motherboard, the latter is better, because this combination can bring you a clean and good looking 8-bit computer system.
The PAL-1 Cassette Interface Expansion Kit includes Cassette board PCB, ICs, passive components, sockets & headers.
You will need one or two 3.5mm TRS cables (audio aux cords) to connect the cassette recorder and PAL-1. And, of course, a cassette recorder with at least one cassette tape.
If you using this expansion board with the PAL-1 Motherboard, you're ready to go!
If you want to connect directly to the PAL-1 port, you need a 2.54 mm pitch, 40 pins, 2×20, female/female IDC cable.
