I had a project where I wanted to create a more convenient solution for changing EPROMS chips in devices, where it is needed to change them frequently. I wanted a ZIF socket mounted on the outside of my device, so I didn’t have to open my devices and risk any incident during the EPROM swap example static or bent EPROM legs. I was not able to find a proper premade solution for my project, but something very close within the DIY car-tuning scene. I therefore sat down and designed my own adapter on PCB board. I actually only needed one of each, but you can only order in batches, when you want a PCB board made and I therefore have these leftovers.
You can mount it on the outside of your device, so you don't have to open your devices and risk any incident during the EPROM swap example static or bent EPROM legs. It can probably also be used for other purposes /solutions.
There are 3 different versions (28-pin, 32-pin, and 40–pin) The IC socket holes and pin-headers are connected 1 x 1, 2 x 2 …etc… All the versions have a hole at the corner, which can be used to mount the board directly on the device or inside an enclosure box The price is for one PCB. Pin-headers, IC-sockets and ZIF sockets are not included, only the PCB board, but most of those parts can be obtained for 2-3 €.
