Due to the Tindie site not giving us the simple tools to apply Tariff calculations for USA Customers, we will try this as a solution.

For USA Customers Only

Sorry we have to do this, but to collect the correct amount of Tariffs, customers from the USA will need to do a little bit of Math, and purchase the correct amount "Tariff Units" to cover their purchase. Thankfully it is not difficult, however if there is an error in your calculation, it does mean there will likely be delays to shipping your order. The correct amount will need to be paid up front before packing can commence. Corrections might be possible via PayPal but could involve orders being cancelled, refunds issued, and then re-placing of the order. Very messy. So please double check your calculations and add in the correct amount of "Tariff Units" to ensure a smooth process.

Calculations

When you have finished selecting all the products you want, crack out your calculator and divide the total cost excluding freight by 10. Round up anything after the decimal point. That is the amount of "Tariff Units" you will need to add to your order to cover the Tariffs that will be collected. Unfortunately Tindie ALSO take a small cut from every sale, and hence to cover THAT part as well, that is why the "Tariff Unit" is not just $1 and is instead $1.05 because Tindie take 5% of all sales. I know, it sucks, but Tindie don't offer us the tools we need, so we are trying a workaround.

Example

Lets say you are buying a full TEC-1G kit ($218) as well as the Real Time Clock ($93). Ignoring how much the Shipping adds to the cost, these two items come to $311. Divide this total by 10 gives you 31.1. This rounds up to 32 being the next whole number. This is the number of "Tariff Units" you need to add to the order, a total of $33.60 extra going (mostly) to the IRS, to make your country greater. 😃 (Sorry, probably not funny.)

PLEASE double check your calculations when adding these items in. We don't want to charge you more than is absolutely required by law, but neither should we foot the bill, even by a couple dollars.
