After decades of operation these switches need to be cleaned up to get rid of distortions. It is essential to diassemble the 2 switches "Monitor" and "Linear/Contour" when performing an overhaul, as they carry the analog signal path (Note: contact spray is not sufficient).
Disassembly is straight forward: desolder and bend 4 metal tips
Assembly of cleaned unit is more difficult as re-bending the metal tips could easily damage the solder pins
My clamps can be used to avoid the dangerous re-bending procedure. They press the metal casing against the bottom element. This allows much easier cleanup operation in the (far) future.
I almost broke one switch, when trying to assemble it. Therefor I created the much easier to handle clamps.
The clamps are printed from normal PLA plastic and fit onto the ALPS switches. The clamps also cover the hole at the end of the switch to reduce air flow (dust) through the switch.
