This is one of many prototypes that I am not going to make in volume unless there is demand for it really. So, once the 4pcs available are sold then I only have parts for 2-3 more
This is a charger allowing you to charge from 5V micro USB or up to 18V DC from DC Jack. You can charge the two cells either in series or parallel, based on the switch setting. Both cells have over voltage, over-current, under-charge and over-temperature protection. Max Charge current is 2A
You can use it with the two onboard cells or add an external pack in which case you can also add an external NTC to monitor temperature.
The unit can function as a UPS for example to an arduino. Connect its LOAD output to an Arduino DC IN when in 2S configuration, while charging the arduino or any other load is powered by the chargers external power source. When You disconnect the external power source arduino remains under battery voltage. Charge cycle does not get affected by the external load unless that is over 1A in which case load gets all the power it needs reducing the charge current.
You can use it in 2S configuration and sporadically switch to 1S to balance charge the cells! You can also use both microUSB and DC power source to charge and/or power a load while the two inputs are "isolated" and one will not affect the other although when DC In is present, it will be used to power the unit and load. 5V microUSB can only be used to charge in 1S configuration.
PLEASE NOTE THAN IN ORDER TO AVOID DAMAGE WHILE SHIPPING, MAIN SWITCH WILL BE DELIVERED AS SPARE PART FOR YOU TO SOLDER.
