Read More…The MP26123 is a peak-current–mode controlled switching charger for use with Li-ion/Li-Po batteries. It can charge either 2 or 3 cells in series (charge voltage 8.4-12.6V) and the selection is made via a simple switch. Max charge current is 2A while input voltage may be either via a 2.5mm DC Jack or screw terminal. Max input voltage is 24V while the minimum is 9V for 2S charging or 13V for 3S charging.
It can also be used as a UPS since when external power is connected to the charger, the external load connected to it is powered by the external power source while the battery is charged. In case of external power failure, the load is powered by the batteries.
It will automatically recharge the battery pack when pack voltage drops below 8-12V so as to maintain the batteries fully charged at all times.
It offers temperature protection for the pack via 10k NTC.
User has the option to solder the supplied 10k NTC to the PCB so it can be safely and firmly attached to the center of the battery pack under charge or he can use the also provided XH connector to attach a ready-made 10k NTC with cable and connector.
Charger has also a timer protection feature. If battery voltage is under 6/9V it will start charging with up to 200mA. If the battery does not reach 6/9V within 30 minutes, charging will terminate. When battery reaches 6/9V or if it is already above 6/9V it will begin charging with 2A max and will stop charging if not fully charged within 3hrs.
The charger has 3 indication LEDs. A blue LED turns on when 3S configuration is selected. A red LED will turn on to indicate that adequate voltage is supplied to the input (must be 300mV above battery level) A green LED is turned on while charging, it will turn off when charge is complete.
VIN max 24V allows the use of 12V solar panels for charging.
I make lithium battery chargers... started with 1S but its time to up the game!
It is easy to use provides a clear power path so it can be used as a UPS and offers a lot of safety features.
