The Unexpected Maker 2018 Badge is a hackable, wearable electronics badge that runs off a Tiny85 micro-controller.
I love electronic badges, especially ones that run off a micro-controller that can be hacked, and I always wanted to design one, so I did :-)
I decided to make my first badge promote my "Make Something Unexpected" ethos that people can buy in kit form so they can enjoy the fun of assembling it themselves.
The entire badge uses surface mount components, including 4x 0603 resistors but it is definitely hand solderable.
What's in the kit?
The badge runs off a CR2032 and has a power switch to allow you to turn it off. It also has a momentary button that is used as an input to change the animation of the LEDs.
The badge has all of the required connections broken out on the back to use an AVR programmer to re-program the Tiny85 to hack the badge.
