These are the extras from our village. We will NOT be producing more. Once they are gone, they're gone. We're selling these as fundraisers. The money from the sale of these will be used to fund the community, including operational costs and preparations for next year's DEF CON. If you buy one, thank you for your support!
We made this DIY badge for our "Heros vs. Villians" youth challenge in the Social Engineering Community village at DEF CON 30 (2022). Proceeds from this badge will support our efforts for next year's village at DEF CON.
We built this badge to allow our young heroes and villains (ages 10-17) the opportunity to experience soldering and produce something very VERY flashy without too much complexity. As such, we've opted not to include resistors and instead focus on the number of LEDs. This makes it a great introduction badge kit for those new to soldering.
This badge features a 3x "AA" battery pack providing 4.5 volts to the 11 color-changing LEDs which have controllers built into the LEDs. A switch allows the badge to be turned on and off as needed. The lanyard hole allows you to wear this around your neck to show it off at your next conference event.
