Selling PCB ONLY A PCB for a 16-key hot-key, shortcut, stream-deck, or macro keyboard built using the off-the-shelf Arduino Pro Micro. This PCB can be populated with up to 11 Cherry MX Keys and 2 rotary encoders. You can substitute the Cherry switches for 12 x 12 mm tactile switches to reduce cost.
I wanted to make a macro keyboard to improve my workflow with some CAD programs. A PCB with backwards compatibility utilizing cheaper components and versatility. You can populate the board with a mix of rotary encoders, Cherry keys, or tactile switches.
I added some of my favorite ideas from other's creations like: two rotary encoders, a mode button to switch between custom key profiles and a 3.5mm stereo jack breakout for external breakout (like a foot pedal). Please see the YouTube video for a complete explanation.
Just a note: This revision (v0.4) corrected the stereo jack breakout wiring show in the YouTube video. Buttons 15 & 16 are now easy broken out with a 3.5mm stereo/ RCA cable. Also new and improved is the rotary encoder footprint: Both can be swapped with a regular cherry key.
Parts you will need for a typical build:
|11||Cherry Mx Switch||Or 12x12 tactile switch. Use generic tac switch, not Omrom (locating holes arent drilled for the Omrom nubs)|
|11||CHERRY MX KEYCAP|
|2||Rotary Encoder w/ Switch||Solder encoder jumpers to enable signal paths|
|2||Knob for Rotary shaft, 6mm dia||optional|
|1||DIP PCB Mount 5 Pins 3.5mm Socket Headphone Stereo Audio Jack|
|4||SWITCH TACTILE SPST-NO 0.05A 12V (6x6mm)|
|3||CAP KEYSWITCH SQUARE BLACK (for 6x6mm switch)|
|2||1x12 Header 0.1" pitch|
|16||Diode (OPTIONAL), small signal, SOD-123||Solder Diode bypass jumpers if not using diodes. Diodes are optional|
|2||Resistor 1206, 330 ohm||660 to 1K ohms if you don't want blindingly bright LEDs|
