Read More…A 2 layer common emitter transistor amplifier PCB using a BC108 transistor. This board uses emitter resistors to increase gain stability. An easy prototyping board with sufficient soldering spaces and gaps between components. Components used with this board need to be through hole.
Designed to work with +10V DC connected to VDC terminal, input signal connected to VIN terminal and VOUT connected to an oscilloscope to view the waveforms. This PCB can be used with and without the decoupling capacitor. I have included two tables containing data for with and without the decoupling capacitor with the input signal set to 20mAp-p. Positive and negative terminals will need to be used in accordance to the schematic provided.
This board is designed to analyse the behaviour of a CE Amplifier without the use of bread boards and the complications that go along with them. I made this board to understand the process of PCB design and manufacture and give experience in this field.
As emitter resistors are used to stabilise the gain, there won’t be high gain, so a capacitor in parallel with the emitter resistors is used so high gain at high frequencies with good stability is possible as the DC feedback is not affected by the increase of AC gain.
