This is a verry compact and easy to use Roland MT-32 emulator that works as a drop in replacement for this amazing old midi hardware. It also has the ability to do soundfont emulation of Sound Canvas, Yamaha DB50XG, AWE64 Gold and many many more.
This is a "hat" that you put on top of a Raspberry PI, i have tried it with a 3A+ and a 3B+ but its supposed to work also with some other models.
Gives great retro sound for your old MT32 or general midi capable machines at a much lower price and smaller formfactor then a real MT32.
It has dual MIDI in and midi out ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack to connect to your speakers or headphones and a small OLED display that shows information.
Can be connected to any old computer that has midi out or even a modern computer using a USB to midi adapter ( i tested these using a Roland UM-ONE on windows 10 and it worked great)
You can read more about the project here: https://github.com/dwhinham/mt32-pi https://github.com/gmcn42/clumsyMIDI
This is just the ClumsyMIDI PI hat, you will also need a compatible raspberry pi and an SD card.
