Basic Experimenter Board

Most microcontroller projects require the same common I/O stuff such as tact switches, LEDs, LCD display, buzzer, RTC, etc. Connecting these things on a breadboard for prototyping every new project is time consuming and boring. This project is about building a general purpose I/O experimenter board to reduce the prototyping time for a new project, as well as to free up space on the breadboard.

Features:

• +5.0V regulator (AMS1117)
• HD44870 LCD header connector with contrast adjustment
• SPI 4-digit seven segment display (MAX7219)
• DS1307 RTC with battery backup
• Buzzer
• 4 tact switches (6 mm x 6 mm, 2-pin type)
• 8 LEDs (3 mm)
• ADC input from a potentiometer, etc.
• LM35 or similar temperature sensor

All the necessary pins of the devices on the board are accessible through headers that allows easy connection of the board to a breadboard circuit or other development boards (Arduino, etc) using jumper wires.

Here's the list of complete items that are required to assemble the board. The items highlighted in yellow are included in this kit.

Read me carefully

* There was a typo in the top silkscreen in the previous version, which has been corrected in the new version.

* The components provided in this partial kit will allow you to complete the power supply part of the board.

* While soldering the components, please begin with low profile parts such as resistors, capacitors, LEDs, tact switches, etc. The headers and other connectors are to be soldered last.

* Ignore C7 capacitor on the board. It is also not in the list of parts.

* Good soldering skills are required to complete this project.
