This mod kit enables perfect digital output from a Super Nintendo console, capable of both optical and coaxial output. Unlike other similar devices, this kit utilizes a mini-TOSLINK output jack, which not only supports both output types, but also makes installation easier and cleaner, since it only requires a single 5mm hole, which can be easily cut with a standard drill, rather than needing to cut a square hole for a full-sized TOSLINK jack. The boards are designed to minimize the length of wire needed for the noisy serial lines, which should help to reduce interference which can result in audio drop-out. Instead, the final output signal is carried differentially to the transmitter board, which should also serve to eliminate interference.
NOTE: This two-board design is specifically intended for the "Jr." model SNES/SFC, but it may also work with other revisions if they include the single-chip "S-APU". Other board revisions can still work, but the installation won't be as streamlined.
Included in the kit:
- Digital audio encoder (choose between TI DIT4096 or Cirrus CS8406)
- Separate mini-TOSLINK transmitter board
- High-precision crystal oscillator to replace the existing ceramic resonator
- All mounting hardware necessary for installation

excellent product - super famicom 1chip crystal sound
My console, super famicom 1chip, was in a regular case, not junior. I found on you tube the channel of the author of this mod. Having studied the issue of installation on my own and realizing that not everything fits together, since I have a different revision, I wrote to the author of the mod here on the site, and sent photos of the motherboard. Further, the creator of the mod made notes and, as the installation progressed, a clarification was added. as a result, everything worked and the sound became crystal clear! thanks to the author for the work and all the best!

Great product, great seller.
This solution is great! it is really streamlined and if you have any other mod (RGB mod, etc.) it will help you avoid the inside of your snes jr. becoming a mess. The COAX or TOSlink option is great. I need and have use for the flexibility. The extra parts provided as well as the kit are high quality. Installation is pretty straight forward, and there is no documentation provided, but the seller (who hapens to also be the developer) is super helpful in case you have any question about installation or configuration of the product. Shipping to Mexico in COVID-19 times was decent, and the seller was very helpful providing tracking numbers when the package changed carrier. The price is great considering how niche this product is.
