This pair of connectors are compatible with ZX81, ZX Spectrum 16K/48K/128K Plus (Also with JS 128 and Harlequin Boards). They allow the connection of alternative keyboards to the machines but are much more robust than standard membrane ribbons. This means they can be inserted and removed without fear of tearing (although they still need to be treated carefully).
I designed these connectors for a personal project but thought they would be useful in the wider 'Spectrum community.
They are made from 0.6mm PCB material and are quite robust. Capable of multiple insertion and retraction cycles. Simply solder your keyboard leads into the connectors and insert as normal. Due to manufacturing tolerances, they can be a tight fit so be careful when removing them from the Spectrum's PCB. Sometimes, gentle sanding down of the sides of the connectors may be required. Use a fine grit sandpaper or emery cloth. Also remember that the connectors face opposite directions on the Spectrums PCB.
