Read More…The 30A Relay HAT is a dual SPDT power relay I/O board for Raspberry Pi with a built-in GPIO expander. It’s perfect for home automation, industrial control or automotive applications.
The ON-ON style changeover relays offer a whopping 30A switching capability up to 277V AC. Both relays are independently opto-isolated up to 3.75 kV, which safely isolates the relays from each-other and from the Raspberry Pi.
Featuring the well-documented MCP23008 8 channel GPIO expander, the 30A Relay HAT is easy to setup and control via I2C. It can be used with any device featuring an I2C bus and works with 3.3V or 5V devices (eg, Arduino); by selecting the appropriate jumper. Channels 0-1 are utilised for the relays, giving you an extra 6 GPIOs for use with your project.
By default the relays are powered through the host Raspberry Pi using the GPIO port. The relays can be powered separately by removing the jumper marked "Link" so you can use an external supply to power the relays, reducing the load on the Raspberry Pi. Use of an external power supply is recommended if you plan to connect multiple HATs to your Raspberry Pi simultaneously.
Can be used in-conjunction with other expansion boards (check-out our HAT RACK range of carrier boards). Up to eight 30A Relay HATs can be used with a single Raspberry Pi (add more using our GPIO I2C pHAT).
Once installed on your Raspberry Pi, this interactive GUI allows quick & easy control of your 30A Relay HAT without the need for any coding. It is designed to be both a user guide & quick reference to the 30A Relay HAT pinout. The GUI is fully responsive and adapts to any screen size.
