This is a breakout board that along with a Teensy 4.1 becomes a CNC motion controller for devices like routers, mills, lasers and lathes. Using grblHAL, it forms the basis of a motion control system with advanced features that you would have to pay multi-hundreds of dollars to get with other products.
This is a PCB with all the surface mount components already soldered in place. You add and solder the through hole components to complete the product. All the hard assembly work is already done for you.
This product is a printed circuit board with all necessary surface mount components installed. You will need to add through hole components which are easily available from numerous sources - pin headers, screw terminals, one trimmer resistor, Teensy 4.1 and sockets for the Teensy 4.1. A manual with assembly instructions is available. The first and second pictures are of the product you will get.
grblHAL is a 32-bit version of GRBL (which runs on 8-bit Arduinos). While the Arduino with GRBL is a very inexpensive platform for building CNC machines, the 8-bit processor severely limits what it is capable of. With grblHAL running on 32-bit ARM processors, much higher performance and many more features are available. For starters, more than 3 Axis machines are supported and significantly higher step rates are possible. In addition, grblHAL supports many plug-ins that allow new features to be added.
