The Pettee Ultra-Wideband (UWB) board utilizes an STM32F401RBT6 microcontroller making it fast and allowing it to run powerful applications. It is fully compatible with the Arduino IDE using the Pettee UWB custom board definition which includes example sketches that demonstrate functionality for all of the integrated peripherals of the board. Additionally, this board is fully compatible with STM32CubeIDE, ProjectIO (Visual Studio Code), and any other IDE that supports flashing STM32 MCU based boards.
The Pettee UWB board was mainly designed around the Decawave DWM1000 UWB transceiver which allows for accurate distance calculation between units. The indoor distance calculation accuracy is within 10cm. Using a total of four units in combination (1 UWB tag and 3 UWB anchors) allows for accurate 2D position tracking within a space. The on-board battery management system and wireless charging capabilities make this the perfect board for setting up a fully modular and portable UWB network for use in a variety of indoor or outdoor spaces. There is also an on-board inertial measurement unit (IMU) containing an accelerometer and gyroscope which allows for orientation and speed calculations on the board.

The Pettee UWB board has exposed USART and I2C ports for extendability with your additional peripherals, such as a display, bluetooth adapter, etc. It has an exposed JTAG SWD programming port which allows for programming and debugging of this board via an ST-Link V2 programmer.
Included in the GitHub repository for this board is a custom Arduino IDE board definition that allows this board to be integrated seamlessly in the Arduino IDE. This custom board definition includes example sketches that demonstrate functionality for all of the integrated peripherals of the board. This provided code makes it simple to configure the board and integrate any or all on-board peripherals into your very own project utilizing the Pettee UWB board.
The Pettee UWB board is programmed via STM32 SWD programmers, such as an ST-Link. We recommend purchasing and utilizing an ST-Link V2 programmer, which can be purchased from a wide variety of online retailers for ~$10 USD. The ST-Link V2 will connect directly to the exposed JTAG SWD, power, and ground pins on the board and will provide firmware flashing and debugging capabilities (Debugging not possible in Arduino IDE, but works using PlatformIO or STM32CubeIDE).
